Summer or winter holiday in Obergurgl in the Ötztal valley

The Ötztal Valley is a 65 km long North-South valley, the longest tributary valley of the Tyrolean Inn Valley. It divides the Stubai Alps in the East and the Ötztal Alps in the West. These massive mountain ranges are ideal for mountaineering, climbing and hiking.

Thanks to the many altitude variations which characterize this valley, visitors may discover interesting climatic and scenic changes: from fruit orchards and large fields at the beginning of the valley to extensive glaciers at its end.

It is not a coincidence that Obergurgl and Hochgurgl are called “diamonds of the Alps”. Winter visitors can ski at the highest stage thanks to 24 modern, state-of-the art ski lift facilities and 110 km long slopes.

Summer visitors will discover a totally different side of Obergurgl. Obergurgl is the highest church village in Austria. It has become a popular mountaineering destination during the last years. Obergurgl is the ideal starting point for hiking or mountain tours above 3000 m.
A hiking holiday in the Ötztal Alps has a special charm.

Irritating house-dust acaroids have no chances of survival in Obergurgl. The Botanic Institute of the Innsbruck University also proved on the basis of various studies that Obergurgl can be highly recommended as holiday destination for pollen-allergic people!
